Alternative wedding Aveiro

Joana and Tom came from Bristol, UK to get married in her – and ours! – home town of Aveiro and they chose do it all a bit differently. They celebrated their love in the coolest place in Aveiro: Cais à Porta is an industrial-feel store located in the old part of town, just by the river, right after their first look in Mercado Negro. It’s all within walking distance of our home and I can say that it felt all too good to just walk to the wedding venue from home – this doesn’t happen very often! The party then moved to Quinta da Fontoura – beautifully decorated by Make My Day, where we all danced the night away.

Sometimes the simplest things can make the day so much better and so much more relaxed, like seeing each other before the ceremony and having a beer together. The anxiety and stress level go way down and everything just flows. It was a perfect start to our wedding season!

PS: Our baby Julia was born just a few weeks before Joana & Tom’s wedding, so Pedro Portela flew in from London to help me on the day.

Casamento alternativo Aveiro

A Joana e o Tom vieram de Bristol, UK para casar na terra-natal da Joana (e nossa!) – Aveiro e escolheram fazer tudo um bocadinho diferente. Eles celebraram o casamento no sítio mais alternativo da cidade: o Cais à Porta é uma loja de feeling industrial na zona velha da cidade, junto à ria, logo a seguir ao first-look no Mercado Negro. É tudo muito perto cá de casa e posso dizer que soube muito bem ir a pé até ao local da cerimónia. – isto não acontece todos os dias! A festa seguiu depois para a Quinta da Fontoura – maravilhosamente decorada pela Make My Day, onde se dançou noite dentro.

Às vezes as coisas mais simples fazem com que o dia corra tão melhor e de forma tão mais relaxada, como verem-se pela primeira vez antes da cerimónia e beberem uma cerveja juntos. A ansiedade desaparece e tudo corre muito melhor. Foi o início perfeito para esta nossa temporada!

PS – a nossa pequenina Júlia tinha apenas umas semanas no casamento da Joana e do Tom, por isso o Pedro Portela veio de Londres para me ajudar no dia.
