People who decide to get married on their own terms are legends. There, I said it.
A rustic wedding in Portugal
Would you love to have a rustic wedding in Portugal as well? It can be really hard to get everything sorted from abroad but sometimes all it takes is starting. Sometimes choosing a hotel, venue, photographer or a makeup artist you really love may unlock a lot of contacts from other vendors with a similar style who are in sync with our vision. Hiring the right wedding planner would be best to help you on this journey but it really is possible to accomplish it on your own.
What really matters
You see, being in this industry for nearly ten years, I’ve seen couples succumb to the pressure of perfect everything. The perfect dress, the perfect flowers, the perfect… you get the point. But sometimes people get so caught up on what is perfect that they miss the big picture: you are marrying the love of your life, right before the eyes of your most cherished friends and family members. And most of them don’t really care about the flowers, the dress or whatever it was that you spent ten hours on Pinterest agonising over. They really just want to see you happy and to spend time with you on one of your big life celebrations.
Is it nice to have pretty everything? Yes. But it isn’t worth it if it costs you your sanity or prevents you from enjoying your own wedding day.
Marrying on your own terms
So Naomi and Vincent got married at Villa Pedra, on their own terms. They decided to have a symbolic ceremony celebrated by some of the most special people in their lives. Most of all, they wanted to have fun and dance. They didn’t want to drive far for a venue so they chose a local community centre to host the reception. They cut a bottle of champaign open with a sabre, did a first look and changed for a spectacular dance floor entrance. And the rest, as they say, is history.
