Anneke & Vitaly’s intimate wedding in Açores

Sometimes I have to pinch myself to make sure I’m actually living these moments. Sometimes it’s hard to believe that someone on the other side of the world finds my work and decides to have me alongside them, celebrating with them and documenting their promise of love to each other. In an island in the middle of the Atlantic.

Anneke and Vitaly did just that. And I was lost for words.

They booked a tiny AirBnb in São Miguel and invited their closest family and friends to witness their celebration. After the ceremony, we all went to the coast and walked down a steep cliff to enjoy the wonderful views. The cyclic hit of the mighty Atlantic on the rocks was the perfect soundtrack for the family photos and few portraits.

Later, during dinner, I – like everyone else – couldn’t keep my tears in during Anneke’s father’s speech, when he told the story of how he brought up three young girls after their mother passed away.

There I was, capturing these heartfelt moments and thinking how lucky I am to be there and witness all of this.
