Destination wedding at Six Senses Douro Valley
No wonder Six Senses Douro Valley hotel has been named one of the best destinations to get married at in the world. Built in the 18th century as a lavishing family home, “with the sky as the ceiling and the River Douro that flows at its feet as a companion” it was recently renovated into an elegant and dazzling hotel. The quiet views of the Douro river, close enough to Peso da Régua to make you feel welcome and isolated enough for a quiet and calming experience, the light in the rooms, the old kitchen and the vegetable garden make us sigh every time we think about the time we spent there. So we understand exactly why Malu and Carlos traveled all the way from Brazil and chose this place to celebrate their love.
Finding such classic and elegant venues like this to get married at is seeing our country grow and having so many foreign couples choosing our country as a meeting point for their families and friends makes us proud. Malu and Carlos brought their people – from Brazil to Japan – to celebrate their outdoor wedding in Douro, under a magnificent sun and a stunning view over the river. They started the celebration the day before with a welcome party and carried it on until the following day with a ton of smiles, honest hugs, some happy tears and, above all, with a lot of love. An unforgettable party, so tastefully organised by Como Branco.
