Travel & accommodation
For weddings within Portugal and the Azores, all travel and accommodation costs are already covered in your collection.
Please keep in mind, however, that for weddings outside of these regions, additional travel expenses will apply. Typically, for European destinations, these can range from €800 to €1500. For overseas weddings, expenses will be calculated accordingly.

Great! We will meet over a video call or get together for a cup of coffee if you’re local and talk it out. If we’re the right match, I’ll just need a signed agreement and a 50% deposit.
Where are you located?
We want to marry abroad. Do you travel for work?
How much is the deposit? How can I pay?
I accept payments via Bank Transfer, MBWay and all major credit cards via Paypal.
To fully secure your date, I’ll need a 50% deposit. The remaining balance is then paid in two parts: 25% mid year and the other 25% due two weeks prior to your wedding date.
A monthly payment plan can also be discussed.
What's your approach when photographing our wedding?
I try to be a “guest with a camera” and not a staff member. Often, guests ask me “have you been friends with Mel & John since college?” or “Did you meet them at work?” because I dress and behave like a good friend who’s there to document their happiness and celebration. My goal is to go unnoticed and capture all the key moments from within. Feel free to read the reviews on Google for a better understanding.
What is an elopement?
To elope means to get married without telling anyone. It’s a way to celebrate and promise your love to each other without the need for a big, formal wedding.
Also my favorite kind of celebration: intimate and personal.
We're having more than 150 guests at our wedding. Is that an issue?
I do prefer small and intimate ceremonies, but I’ve shot many large weddings in the past. For bigger weddings, I recommend including a second photographer to your collection for an additional €450.
The 12 hours might be a little short for our plans. Can you stay for longer?
You can add extra hours for €350/hour on the wedding day or if you already know you’ll need more hours, you can include them in advance in your collection for €250/h.
I’d love to have my images in print. Do you sell albums?
Yes I do! I’m a big believer of prints and I love seeing my work on paper, for generations to come. That’s why I’ve teamed up with an album supplier who makes them by hand right here in Portugal with eco-friendly materials. I have two sizes available (20x20cm and 30x30cm) and they are all printed on heavy-stock fine art paper and bound with organic linen. Click here for a full album example. We will have a rehearsal dinner and a day-after BBQ with all the guests. Can you come and photograph those events?
Sure! Some celebrations are longer than others and extend for a few days before and/or after the wedding day and I’m very happy to be part of it all. My daily rate is €970 (3 hours included) + €250/hour.
Do you shoot portraits/engagements?
I do, yes. It’s a great way to know each other and break the ice. I know how awkward some people can feel in front of the camera, but I’m there to make it all very easy and relaxed. Engagements start at €650 + travel fees.
What are your portrait/engagement sessions like?
In order to make them more personal, I like to either start in an intentional location such as your home or a somewhere we pre-pick, even if it’s hours (or days!) away. The focus of these sessions is about connection, relationship, adventure and authenticity. I’m going to make pretty photos, but hopefully these are the kinds of photos that outlast just one moment in your life and will be just as meaningful throughout your marriage. #legacy
We don't speak Portuguese. Nor any of our guests. Is that a problem?
Not at all! English is my second language – as you could probably tell by this whole website ahah.
How many photos do you deliver?
It really depends on a few variables; a 100 guest wedding will yield more photos than an elopement, for example. Typically, I deliver 50-100 images from engagement sessions, 200-300 from elopements and 600+ from bigger weddings.
When will the photos be ready?
For engagement/portrait sessions, you can expect to have your final – private and password protected – gallery 6 weeks from our shoot date. Weddings take a bit longer, but typically 6-8 weeks post wedding date.
Do you deliver color copies of the black and white images?
All black and white images are delivered as black and white only.
Do you shoot video?
I believe that video should be done by professionals who are passionate about filming your wedding like I am photographing it, so I specialise in photography only. In case you’d like to have your wedding on video as well, I can refer a few videographers who have a similar style to my photography.
Do you have backup gear?
I’m a bit O.C. with backups, so I carry two cameras at all times, plus one more in the bag, just in case. The cameras shoot to two separate memory cards, so I’m backing up immediately. I also carry extra lenses and extra memory cards. After every wedding and before I head back home, your images are backed up to five other different locations. Haven’t lost a single image in over a decade of shooting weddings.
How do we book you?
A signed agreement and a 50% deposit is all it takes to reserve your date and have me document your wedding day.
Dogs or cats?
Dogs! We rescued what we think is a Border Collie mixed with a Brittany back in 2016 and she’s the best dog ever.
